The tropics: guaranteed 30°C+ (long flight, real heat)

If you want to swim, snorkel and wear shorts at breakfast, only the tropics guarantee it. Phuket, Thailand is squarely in its dry season from December to February, with daytime highs of roughly 32–34°C and rainfall dropping sharply after November — it is also the cheapest to be on this list once you land. Zanzibar off the Tanzanian coast runs a touch hotter and more humid, around 32–33°C, with warm Indian Ocean water. Colombo and the southern coast of Sri Lanka hold near 31°C and enjoy their drier southwest-coast window in this period. Across the Atlantic, Cancún, Mexico is the Caribbean pick at around 29°C by day, cooled by trade winds and reliably dry — which is exactly why it is peak season and priced accordingly.

The mid-range: warm-enough, shorter hop

Dubai and the UAE flip their whole calendar in winter: the brutal summer is gone and December–February highs of 24–26°C make it the region’s actual peak tourist season, pairing beach days with a full city. Down in the subtropical lowlands and mid-hills the winter is mild and, crucially, bone-dry and cloudless. Chitwan in the Terai, gateway to the national park where you look for one-horned rhino, wild elephant and Bengal tiger, sits around 22–26°C by day through December–February.
