How much does it cost to trek in Nepal in 2026?
A guided Nepal trek typically runs from about US$300 for a short Poon Hill trip to US$2,200+ for remote restricted-area circuits like Manaslu, Upper Mustang or Kanchenjunga. The biggest cost drivers are the number of days, the permits required, and your group size. Use the calculator above for an instant estimate for any trek.
What is included in a guided trek price?
Our guided prices cover the trekking permits, a licensed English-speaking guide, a porter (where booked), teahouse accommodation, all meals on the trail, and ground transport to and from the trailhead. The calculator lets you add a personal porter, gear rental, insurance and single rooms.
Is it cheaper to trek solo or in a group?
Per person, larger groups are cheaper because the fixed costs (guide, transport, logistics) are shared. A solo trekker pays the most per head; couples and small groups of 3–6 get progressively better per-person rates. Note that since April 2023 a licensed guide is mandatory, so true solo (unguided) trekking is no longer permitted in most regions.
What is NOT included in the estimate?
The calculator excludes international flights to Nepal, your Nepal visa, hotels in Kathmandu/Pokhara before and after the trek, tips for guides and porters, and personal expenses (drinks, wifi, hot showers, charging). We itemise all of these in your final quote.
