A 14-day Manaslu Circuit in peak season (Sep–Nov) costs about US$250 per person in permits: the Restricted Area Permit (US$100 for 7 days + US$15/day = US$205), plus MCAP NPR 3,000 (≈ US$23) and ACAP NPR 3,000 (≈ US$23). In the off-season (Dec–Aug) the RAP drops to US$75 + US$10/day.

The two-person minimum was scrapped in March 2026, so solo travellers can now go; fully independent trekking remains not permitted. Do I need a guide for the Manaslu Circuit? Can I go solo?+
A licensed guide hired through a registered agency is required for Manaslu. The old rule requiring a minimum of two trekkers was scrapped in March 2026, so solo travellers can now get the permit (with a guide); fully independent trekking remains not permitted. Why does Manaslu need three permits?+
The Restricted Area Permit controls access to the sensitive border region, the Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP) covers most of the trek, and the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) covers the final section where the circuit joins the Annapurna region near Dharapani.
Can I get the Manaslu permits online in 2026?+
Partly. Since October 2024 the NTNC offers an online e-permit portal for the MCAP and ACAP conservation permits, so those you can pre-pay online. But the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP) — the main permit — is issued only through a registered trekking agency in Kathmandu and can never be obtained online or by individuals. Since Manaslu requires a licensed guide anyway, the simplest route is to let your agency arrange all three permits at once.
