Annapurna Panorama Trek — 7 Days

Morning drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1,070 m). Begin trekking along the Bhurungdi Khola, passing Birethanti and climbing through terraced fields of millet and rice. Cross suspension bridges over rushing streams before the steep stone staircase ascent to Tikhedhunga, a small village perched above the valley.

The main challenge is the long stone staircase ascent from Tikhedhunga through Ulleri (1,960 m) — over 3,000 steps through dense oak and rhododendron forest. The gradient eases as you enter the forest and emerge into Ghorepani, a busy hilltop settlement offering magnificent first views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

Pre-dawn hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) for one of Nepal trekking most celebrated sunrises — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna South ignite in gold and rose. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast, then take the forested ridge trail east through rhododendron canopy to Tadapani, a quiet village with sweeping views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South.

Descend through dense rhododendron forest and past small Gurung villages, crossing the Kimrong Khola before the final climb to Chhomrong, the last major Gurung village on the Annapurna Sanctuary approach. The stone-paved village offers terrific views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli directly across the Modi Khola valley.

Descend the long stone staircase from Chhomrong to the Chhomrong Khola bridge, then a short climb to Jhinu Danda village. Spend the afternoon soaking in the natural hot springs on the bank of the Modi Khola — a wonderful reward for four days of hiking through the Annapurna foothills.

Final easy trail through Syauli Bazaar along the Modi Khola back to Nayapul. Board a private vehicle for the 1.5-hour scenic drive through the Pokhara valley, arriving in time for a celebratory lunch by Phewa Lake.

Free morning at leisure in Pokhara — stroll along the lakeside, browse Tibetan market stalls, or take a sunrise kayak on Phewa Lake with reflections of Machhapuchhre. Transfer to domestic airport or tourist bus station for onward travel.
