Peak: 3,860 m · Day 4The trek starts with the flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. In peak season the flight may leave from Manthali (Ramechhap) instead of Kathmandu, with a road transfer from Kathmandu first. At Lukla we meet the crew, sort the bags and walk down to Phakding past small Sherpa settlements, stone-paved paths and pine forest beside the Dudh Koshi river. Phakding is reached in the afternoon with time to rest and look around the village.

The Everest View Trek lets you see Mount Everest without walking all the way to Base Camp. In one week you fly to Lukla, follow the classic trail through Phakding and Namche Bazaar, hike up to the Everest View Hotel on an acclimatisation day and spend a night at Tengboche Monastery, with Everest (8,849 m), Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kongde in view along the way.

Why choose it
The Everest region is much more than Base Camp. This route follows the lower half of the classic EBC trail through Sherpa villages, pine and rhododendron forest and the suspension bridges of the Dudh Koshi, to Tengboche, the religious heart of the Khumbu. The acclimatisation day in Namche gives your body time to adjust and, on a clear morning, the view from the Everest View Hotel is one of the finest in Nepal. It suits travellers with a week to spare who still want a genuine Everest trek.
Lukla flights depend on the weather, and in peak season they may leave from Manthali (Ramechhap) after a road transfer from Kathmandu. Keep at least one spare day in your Nepal plans.

Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Prime season. October is perfect — clear skies, stable weather, 4–6 week dry window. November gets cold at altitude but still excellent. EBC trail at its busiest.
Low: -10°C at EBC High: 15°C Namche October: minimal. November: possible above 5,000 m
Spring (Mar–May)
Climbing season — expeditions on Everest. Good trekking weather. Rhododendrons in Namche area. Pre-monsoon cloud builds in afternoon from May. Slightly warmer than autumn.
Low: -8°C at EBC High: 18°C Namche March: possible at pass level. May: mostly clear
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Very cold. Khumbu trails remain open but temperatures extreme at EBC (-20°C+). Experienced cold-weather trekkers only. Fewer crowds. Lodges may be closed above Namche.
Low: -25°C at EBC High: 5°C Namche Heavy above 5,000 m
Monsoon (Jun–Aug)
Not recommended. Trails wet and unstable. Cloud cover obscures mountain views. Risk of landslides on lower sections.
Low: 5°C High: 20°C Namche None at low altitude

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Fee
