  • Everest and Manaslu have higher medians per day than Annapurna and Langtang.
  • Groups save more as they grow. The biggest saving is at 4 or more people.
  • Per-day prices mislead on short trips and luxury trips, so compare the full itinerary before you choose.

What does a trek cost per day in each region?

The median price per day is $113 in Annapurna and Langtang, $147 in Everest and $152 in Manaslu. Our Annapurna and Everest samples are large enough to trust; Manaslu (4 packages), Mardi Himal (3) and Jomsom and Mustang (3) are small, so their figures can move a lot with one package. Jomsom and Mustang’s $213 median rests on three packages.

Median price per day for guided treks by region: Jomsom and Mustang $213, Manaslu $152, Everest $147, Annapurna $113, Langtang $113, Mardi Himal $114.

What are the cheapest and dearest packages per day?

The lowest is a three-day village walk at $43 a day, and the highest is a 14-day luxury Everest trek at $300 a day. The three-day walk is $130 in total; very short trips can show a low per-day figure, which is why the median is a better guide. At the top end, the 10-day Everest Base Camp trek with a helicopter return is $260 a day, and the 9-day Badimalika trek is $228 a day. A short trip or a helicopter sector pushes the per-day figure up or down, which is why the median is more useful than the extremes.

How much does a group save per person?

A pair saves a median 10% on the solo price, and a group of four or six saves a median 19%. Across our 80 packages, the saving for two people ranged from 7% to 20%, and for four or six from 8% to 31%. Our published group tiers put groups of four to seven in the same price band, so a party of six pays the same per person as a party of four. How the price per day changes with trek length is covered in our piece on trek price per day by length.
