Of the 1,738 fixed departures we have published for Nepal treks, 54% start in autumn (September to November) and 34% in spring (March to May), and 97% fall in the months each tour names as its best season. These are scheduled dates on our departures table, read 3 October 2026. They show when we run treks, not how many people book them, because we do not publish booking or seat counts in these figures.
- Autumn is our busiest season for scheduled departures, with October and November the two largest months.
- Spring is the second season, led by April.
- Winter and monsoon carry few departures: 132 and 75 respectively.
- The schedule follows the tour’s own stated season in almost every case.
When do our Nepal treks start?
Most scheduled departures start in autumn, with 940 of the 1,738 falling between September and November. October alone has 443 and November 416, the two largest months. Spring follows with 591 departures, April being the busiest of those months with 287.

Does the schedule match each tour’s season?
Yes, almost always: 1,686 of the 1,738 departures fall within the months the tour lists as its best season. We read each tour’s best-season text and compared it with the month the departure starts. Tours marked year-round, and the few marked for monsoon, are included in that count.

What about winter and monsoon?
Winter has 132 departures and the monsoon 75, a small share of the schedule. Most tours do not list June to August as a best season, so few departures fall then. The rain-shadow routes that do are the exceptions, and our guide to where to trek in the monsoon covers them.

What does this not tell me?
It does not tell you how many people trek in each season. A departure is a scheduled date, and the counts measure what we offer, not what people buy. Our booking and seat figures are not used here, because they are not a measure of demand. For the price side of the same schedule, see what a guided trek costs per day by region.

A departure is counted by the calendar month of its start date. Each tour’s best-season text is read as a list of month ranges, such as “Oct–Nov, Mar–May”, and a departure is aligned if its start month falls inside one of them.
