Seoul to Kathmandu in 2026: the direct flight, and the smart connections
Korean Air flies nonstop Incheon–Kathmandu, but it's seasonal and limited. Here's how Korean trekkers actually get to Nepal in 2026 — direct, or via Bangkok, Singapore or Delhi.

The first hurdle of a Nepal trek for Korean travellers is simply getting there. There is a nonstop flight from Seoul to Kathmandu — but it is seasonal and thin on capacity, so most trekkers end up connecting through an Asian hub. Here is the honest 2026 picture, and how to plan your route around an autumn trek.
Key facts (인천 → 카트만두)
- Korean Air flies nonstop ICN–KTM (~6h25m), but only ~2–3 times a week, seasonally
- Most travellers connect via Bangkok, Singapore or Delhi
- Nepal issues Koreans a visa on arrival (USD 30/50/125)
- Book flights early — autumn capacity is tight
The direct option
Korean Air operates the only nonstop service between Incheon and Kathmandu, an Airbus A330 flight of about six and a half hours, reopened for the recent season. The catch is frequency: it runs only around two to three times a week and seasonally, so seats are limited and fares (from roughly US$770 return) climb fast in the autumn peak. If the dates line up, it is the most comfortable way to go — but you must book early.
| Route | Notes |
|---|---|
| Korean Air (nonstop) | ~6h25m · seasonal, ~2–3/week |
| via Bangkok | Reliable, frequent connections |
| via Singapore | Good schedules, short layovers |
| via Delhi | Many options into Kathmandu |
Planning the connection
If the nonstop does not fit, connecting through Bangkok, Singapore or Delhi is straightforward and often cheaper, with frequent onward flights into Kathmandu. Aim to land in Kathmandu a day before your trek begins to absorb any delay and rest, and remember the visa is issued on arrival — bring US dollars in cash and a passport photo. From Kathmandu, your domestic flight or drive to the trailhead is the final leg.
