At 6:20 a.m. local time on Saturday, July 25, 2026, a Nepali mountain guide named Chatur Tamang stood on top of Mount Elbrus, the highest point in Europe, for the 200th time. No Nepali has summited a foreign mountain that many times. Most professional guides anywhere in the world do not reach 200 summits of any single peak in a career.
