No airline flies nonstop between Australia and Nepal — but the fastest routing to Kathmandu is still quicker than Qantas's new nonstop to London. Sydney to Kathmandu via Singapore is scheduled at 13 hours 40 minutes gate-to-gate. Qantas's long-awaited nonstop Sydney-London service, using specially modified Airbus A350s, does not begin until October 2027, and even then the flight is scheduled to stay airborne for up to 22 hours. If you've ever hesitated over booking a Nepal trek from Australia because it felt impossibly far, the numbers say otherwise.

Singapore Airlines runs Sydney-Singapore-Kathmandu, the shortest total journey at roughly 13 hours 40 minutes combined. Perth travellers have the easiest run, with a short hop to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur before the onward leg.
