There is no shortcut here: in 2026 there is still not a single nonstop flight between the UK and Nepal. Every route from London, Manchester or Edinburgh to Kathmandu goes through a Gulf or Middle East hub, and the choice of hub is the first real decision in planning a Nepal trek from Britain.

Qatar Airways runs the most frequent option — multiple daily flights from London Heathrow to Doha, connecting on to Kathmandu, with total journey times from around 13 hours on the tightest connections. Etihad's routing via Abu Dhabi and Turkish Airlines via Istanbul are the main alternatives; British Airways sells the route too, but only as a codeshare over one of the same hubs, not on its own metal into Kathmandu. None of this is unusual for the region — trekkers flying from Sydney or Los Angeles face the same hub-and-spoke reality — but it does mean building at least one overnight or a half-day layover into the outbound plan, and booking three to four months ahead for the best autumn fares.
